Ningxia University Scholarships for International Students

1. Contents and Standards

In order to further accelerate the internationalization of our school, serve the construction of “Double First-Class” university project (to construct world-class universities and first-class disciplines), expand the scale of international students and attract high quality students, Ningxia University has provided full scholarships for international students since 2017, which include PhD scholarships (¥3500 per month), Master Scholarships (¥3000 per month) and Bachelor Scholarships (¥2500 per month). Scholarship recipients are exempt from tuition, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance.



2. Qualifications

(1) Applicants who study for bachelor’s degree in China must have received high school diploma and are no more than 25 years old. Applicants who study for master’s degree in China must have bachelor’s degree and are no more than 35 years old. Applicants who study for doctor’s degree in China must have master’s degree and are no more than 40 years old.

(2) Applicants must hold foreign passport with foreign nationality and are friendly to Chinese people and healthy physically and mentally.

(3) Applicants are required to provide HSK Level 4 certificate or other certificates of Chinese learning and examination. (Those who apply for bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and literature are not necessarily required to provide HSK Scores.) Scholarship applicants who can not meet the language requirements mentioned above can apply for one-year preparatory language education.

(4) Applicants who gain other kinds of scholarships from Chinese governments at the same time are not required to make applications.



3. Application period

Scholarship Application usually lasts from March to June annually.



4. Scholarship duration

Scholarship duration is the same as the length of schooling: undergraduate students 4-5 years, graduate students 2-3 years and doctoral students 3-4 years. Applicants who can not meet the language requirements can apply for one-year preparatory language education. (Notes: They can use their scholarships during the one-year preparatory education. )



5. Application procedure

(1) Applicants should log into http://sie.nxu.edu.cn/info/1023/1318.htm to search majors of different educational levels and make decisions.

(2) Applicants should log into http://sie.nxu.edu.cn/info/1042/1298.htm to download the scholarship application form for international students, fill in it and send it to gjjyxy@nxu.edu.cn after signing names.

(3) Application materials are required to be sent to Lijuan, School of International Education, Ningxia University, No. 333, Huaiyuan Campus, Xixia District, Yinchuan, Ningxia. The postcode is 750021.

(4) Admission list is announced at the end of June.

(5) Applicants enrolled complete admission procedure. (JW202 form and letter of admission)

(6) Applicants enrolled go to Chinese embassy (consulate) with admission materials to apply for the student visa.



6. Application materials

(1) Scholarship application form for international students;

(2) Copy of the highest education degree certificate;

(3) Original certificate of the highest education degree notarized by Chinese Embassy. If applicants are school students, they are required to submit the student certificate or pre-graduation certificate. After getting admitted, they are required to submit the original certificate of the highest education degree and other notarized materials.

(4) Copies of transcripts, original materials notarized by Chinese Embassy and their copies;

(5) Study or research plans in China;

(6) Recommendation letters. Applicants who study for master’s degree and doctor’s degree must submit two recommendation letters written by professors or associate professors in Chinese or English with their signatures.

(7) Passport copies;

(8) Applicants who are less than eighteen are required to submit relevant legal documents about their legal guardians in China.

(9) Published articles;

(10) Certificate of Awards;

(11) HSK report;

(12) Copy of physical examination form for foreigners (The form is printed by Chinese Health and Quarantine Department, which can be downloaded from  http://sie.nxu.edu.cn/info/1042/1297.htm. ) and blood test report. Applicants should strictly get a medical examination according to the items on the form. Incomplete records, photos without the seal on the perforation or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital or the photograph of the applicants are invalid. In view that the validity of the inspection results lasts for 3 months, applicants should confirm the time for the medical examination.

(13) Non-criminal evidence notarized by Chinese Embassy;
